I was feeling like I might be fighting off something today. A few minutes ago I started experiencing an optical migraine. Thanks to Dr. Bruce Wojciechowski, I knew what to do to stop it dead in its tracks!!
What a fabulous day!! I met a friend at NW EyeCare Professionals, and introduced her to Dr. Macson Lee, who would be her Behavioral / Neurological Optometrist. Both she and her husband were beside themselves with his knowledge, understanding, and how one visit made such a huge difference!! I met & had a great conversation with a wonderful man in the waiting room who left carrying a signed copy of ‘Learning to Make Toast’. He was thrilled!! Then Husband & I picked up some donations for Oregon Impact’s fundraiser, Merry & Bright that’s being held on November 30th at the Abernathy Center in Oregon City.
It was such an honor to be asked to sit with a patient of Dr. Bruce’s today. She recently was hurt in a car crash, which resulted in a TBI. Her injury devastated her, but given a copy of ‘Learning to Make Toast’ from one of Dr. Bruce’s tech’s days ago to help give her hope. Then I surprised her with a visit and what a surprise it was! She doesn’t live in Oregon and when she met the woman the book was about, she couldn’t stop crying she was so overwhelmed and appreciative. We’ll be staying in touch even when she moves back home to Alaska.
It feels so good and so right living a purpose filled life!
It was great to be back volunteering today and see my buddies at Good Sam. Especially my gardening partner Maria Bruce 🌷 and how cool on the way to wait for my bus, I ran into Justin Wojciechowski!! I also sold two books (Learning to Make Toast) and have a book signing at Good Sam on August 8th in the garden.
It was a good, good day!!!
